Atta Kwami ‘Dzidzo Kple Amenuveve’ (Joy and Grace), 2021, mural.

Serpentine North Garden, West Carriage Drive, Kensington Gardens, W2.

This biennial commission of a public mural was awarded to the late Atta Kwami. The geometric design and vibrant colours reference the everyday visual culture of his native Ghana, from textiles to architecture. The mural was painted on wood by Pamela Clarkson, Kwami’s widow, and by Andy Philpott, friend of the artist.

The mural is on display in the back garden, until 3 September 2023.

It can be found on the Scarlet Walk at number 3, Serpentine North Gallery (formerly known as Serpentine Sackler Gallery).
