Banksy, If Graffiti changed anything…

The site of Banksy’s work ‘If Graffiti changed anything it would be illegal’ is scheduled for demolition this Spring. Banksy’s signature rat looks back at the graffiti slogan, as with all of Banksy’s poignant street art its permanence is never secure. Perhaps its careful removal and preservation may be a consideration.

The Fitzroy Tavern

The Fitzroy Tavern, a bohemian hub for artists in the early twentieth century, has  reopened its doors again after major refurbishment. Among the many illustrious local artists from the Camden Town, Fitzroy, London and Bloomsbury Groups who regularly socialised here were Walter Sickert, Jacob Epstein, Ezra Pound, Wyndham Lewis, Roger Fry, Duncan Grant and most frequently Augustus John and Nina Hamnett ‘Queen of Bohemia’. John likened the Fitzroy to ‘the Clapham Junction of the world, everyone goes in and comes out at sometime or another.’
