Sculpture in the City
The City of London programmes an annual display of contemporary international art in and around St. Mary Axe, calling itself a ‘free open-air exhibition.’ This year’s dynamic exhibition includes work by Oliver Bragg, Eva Rothschild, Guillaume Vandame, Shezad Dawood and Sarah Lucas. Sited in quiet courtyards, bustling thoroughfares, on street corners, pavements and green spaces, hidden under escalators, hanging from trees and embedded in benches, the artworks coexist with the surroundings, in challenging, curious, beautiful and beguiling ways. All 20 works are accompanied by an information board and location map. This is a walk within itself and as ever full of surprises.
The works will be on display until Spring 2023.
Sculpture in the City is number 1 on the Emerald Walk.
