The station has recently reopened with Eduardo Paolozzi’s iconic ‘Underground Murals’ largely restored. ‘Diamonds and Circles’, new glass installations by French artist Daniel Buren in the entrance to the station simply echo Paolozzi’s murals. Buren was inspired by the public setting with “a constant flux of people running both ways.” He offers his artworks as “a beautiful balloon of oxygen for the spirit.” Additional artworks by two Turner Prize winners Douglas Gordon and Richard Wright, have been commissioned for the station’s future expansion.
