This sculpture has been newly restored and relocated to the corner of New Bond Street and Burlington Gardens. It was moved here to mark the new entrance to the Royal Academy of Arts in Burlington Gardens.

Commissioned in 1975 by Trafalgar House Investments, this familiar sculpture was seen at the time as ‘one of the few striking new pieces of sculpture in London’. Sarah Kent art critic thought the sculpture ‘ludicrously out of place amongst the urban bustle and pollution’ while art historian Philip Ward-Jackson found the contrast this ‘calm work presents to its environment… interesting , and reinforces its message.’

This new siting of this iconic work is a thoughtful act of regeneration.
